Hey I came to know this from Biospectrum 2006 (or much earlier I think) edition that the top ranking institutes which are actively contributing to life sciences in India are

all these institutes are head with a great vision and very intellectual people

So carrying out P.hD from these institutes is very good and one can find good prospects after completion.
